It's a fantastic looking game, it plays well. It feels very 40K. I love the music. All in all for the price well worth. But what makes me even happier is the new update. I love it when devs give you choices. When they acknowledge that maybe you want to play differently. And they give you those choices. As someone who doesn't have as much time to game as I'd like. I appreciate the ability to streamline. So, if you enjoy turn-based games. If you enjoy Warhammer 40K and are in the mood for something a bit unique. Definetly give this a buy.. Thoroughly enjoyed playing this game - i found it is something i can put down and pick up again in between my regualar games. The initial learning curve is a little steep - maybe not for all but i had to restart twice as certain upgrades are better earlier on and once you get a feel for the pace or order of skill ups it becomes easier - easy to get overwhelmed early on was the main difficulty i found.Still a great little game to play and a nice change of pace from some of the other GW titles.Maps have a little variety but nothing amazing, AI is alright. The graphics and design are fairly snazzy but don't blow you away. Overall a good game.. The lore of the 40k universe is represented quite well through the handful of Magos advisors working for\/under you, and in what you discover in the Necron tombs found below the planet. If you follow each quest string to the end, you unlock various technologies of war, information, and support to your cause. Depending on how long you take, each mission adds "awake-ness" to the sleeping Necron armies on the planet. You must find as much technology and information as you can before the timer runs out.As far as the actual mission turn-based combat goes, I wish they had a miss\/fumble system that added some level of risk to aggressive play -- because as it stands with the crit and opportunity strike mechanics, there's absolutely no reason to play any style but aggressive. It took a few restarts to understand the mechanics of the game, but once I did it was quite easy. I'd like to see a harder difficulty option or something. That said, it is still fun to explore the halls of the sleeping Necrons, and see what wonders your tech priests can find in the name of the cause.Ultimately, I recommend this game as a fan of turn-based RTS and of the 40k Universe, and am looking forward to any future content!. It has been compared to X-Com a lot. So just a caveat off the bat, to avoid disappointments: The tactical gameplay is Xcom-lite. By that I mean there is no cover mechanic, no fog of war, no multi level maps which are also quite small in comparison. So with that out of the way I think this game should be judged on its own merits: It is great. The Tech-Priests, the main guys in your Cohort, are not limited to a class, but can chose skills from 6 specializations (Melee, Ranged, Heal, Support, CP* Gathering and Troop** buffing). By the end of the game most Tech-Priests can have two specializations maxed.(*) CP (Cognitions Points) is the "Mana pool" common to all the Tech-Priests, it powers their powerful abilities and weapons and allow to take more than one move per turn.(**) Troops are auxiliary troops, that fill up the cohort, they cost CP to deploy, they are weaker, expendable compared to Tech-Priests,... but certainly can pack a punch.TL;DR: What it lacks in tactical combat compared to X-Com it makes up for in... Warhammer'ness.. The premise and writing of the game is cool. Strategy is pretty deep. The satisfaction of leveling and gearing up your crew will keep you playing. I don't see a ton of replay value in it right now, but I plan to revisit when the expansion comes out. Animal couple 4 is released!: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1058011/Animal_couple_4/.
